KU vs. Floriday International University
We had a great time at the first KU football game. It was PACKED which made it even more exciting. The kids enjoyed the balloon animals, walking around on the hill, cheering and snacks. The Hawks looked great and won easily 40-10.
PTO Back to School Picnic
Here's a pic of Katie's current and previous teachers. Miss Parker, Mrs. Estle and Ms. Dunlap. Katie loves them all!
KU Fan Appreciation Night
We took the kids to KU Fan Appreciation an Memorial Stadium today. The kids loved the inflatables and seeing the Jayhawks. The had an autograph session afterwards but we left because the lines were really long and the only the kids wanted was Big Jay and Baby Jay.
Money's Worth
I came across this awesome pedal race car at a garage sale last week. The kids love it and are riding it everyday. With all the hard use I don't expect it to last too long but it only cost a dollar so we've already got our moneys worth.
Colorado 2008
Troy unexpectedly had some slow time and so he could work a mini-vacation into his busy schedule. We decided to Go West! We headed to Woodland Park, CO for a long weekend along with his dad, Mary and niece, Dani. We couldn't all fit in one vehicle so they followed the van in their truck. Although it was a long car ride the kids stayed busy with snacks, games and crafts. I was fortunate to come across the Target 75% off sale and cleaned them out of games and crafts.
Even though our time in Colorado was short, we managed to fit in Garden of the Gods, Cave of the Winds, Pikes Peak, Helen Hunt Falls, Cripple Creek, a Cowboy Chuckwagon dinner show and the Dinosaur Resource Center.
The kids loved the hotel pool and playing in mountain streams. They had fun panning for gold and now Matthew wants to be a gold prospector when he grows up. They were all impressed with the Dinosaur Resource Center in Woodlawn Park and Paul earned a cub scout badge there. They were troopers when it came to hiking and had more stamina than I expected.
The Long and Whining Road
Wow! We had a blast bit it feels great to be home. We're not actually all the way home yet but we're close. We're driving through Topeka now.
