Christmas Celebration #3

Although a puppy was on Katie's Christmas wish list she didn't receive one. This puppy is Danielle's new Havanese puppy. His name is Duke and he is so soft and as cute as could be!

Boxing Day

Today's weather was unseasonably warm so we tried to be outside as much as possible. It was about 65 degrees. We started at the park so the Paul could ride his new bike. Later we headed to KC to go ice skating at Crown Center with everyone else who thought it was a good day to be outside. Katie looked adorable in her ice skating dress she received for Christmas and the boys had a blast running through the fountains.

Science City

We had fun at Science City with Mary T today. The kids were very excited to run around and explore. We sure did get our exercise trying to keep up with them. It was a good thing we had an adult for each child because all three kids ran in three different directions. Katie's favorite exhibit was the pull chair, Matthew enjoyed the Dinosaur dig area and Paul was really impressed with the train and Lego display in Union Station.

Videos from Santa

Santa is really up to date with technology. He's readily available by cellphone, email and now video. Click on the videos below to see the special message he sent to the kids who have been very good ALL year long. Wink, wink.

Princess Bed

Katie graciously gave up her room for Mary T and got to sleep in the princess bed we bought last year. It was a bit of a hassle to set up but was really worth it. Katie loved sleeping in it and should be able to fit in it for a couple more years.

Liberty Memorial

We've been having fun with Mary T. in town but it's freezing code outside so we're limited to inside attractions. Today we spent the afternoon at the Liberty Memorial - WWI Museum. It is an impressive museum that was very interesting and educational. We were able to explore for about 2.5 hours before the kids lost interest and got hungry. I thought that was an incredibly long time for the kids and attribute that to all the cool interactive displays they had.

Santa at the Zoo

We had some errands to run in KC so we decided spur of the moment to go visit Santa at the zoo. The kids are having fun and we got to see some animals too. Most were snug inside and out of view but we were able to see the tiger, red pandas and kangaroos. The kangaroos were loose in Australia so we weren't able to go to far through there. We are bundled up but it's still pretty chilly. This is my first attempt at posting with my phone. Success!!

Holiday Dance Recital

Matthew and Katie had their Holiday recital today. They both did great and had a lot of fun.

Santa Breakfast

We enjoyed a fantastic breakfast this morning with neighbors and Santa. The kids each got to chat with Santa and give him their wish lists. Katie was enamored with Santa. Since there weren't too many kids there she got to spend some great quality time with him. They chatted for a long time, Katie sang Santa a few Christmas carols, she showed him her wiggly teeth and they made plans for Christmas Eve. Katie lated told me (in a very serious voice) that whe wasn't sure if she'd be able to spend Christmas with us because Santa agreed to let her help him deliver toys around the world.
