Mini Golf

After running some errands today we stopped for a round of Mini-Golf this evening. It was the first time we had played on an actual course. We had a great time and Katie even made a hole in one. The water hazards added some excitement, we all had a bit of trouble with them but we were able to get our floating golf balls back pretty easily.

Strep? No Way!

Katie had some trouble with her bottoms of her feet peeling last week. My internet diagnosis determined it could be from many different causes so I made an appointment for her to rule out a staph infection or anything too serious. Of course it had pretty much cleared up by the time the appt rolled around today but we're able to count this as her 6 year old checkup so not a totally worthless trip. The Dr. was as surprised as me to figure out that she had strep throat. And what was even more surprising is that Matthew (I mean, Dr. Jones), who is covered in poison ivy (unrelated), also has strep. They have no other symptoms like headache or fever just a red throat and foot peeling on Katie. We're taking it easy tonight and replanning our weekend since our plans previously included babysitting at the church and going to the new pool.

Dr. Jones

Matthew decided one day last week to change his name. When asked what he was changing it to he quickly replied Indiana Jones. Paul and he argued for a bit on whether he was the REAL Indiana Jones or a fake. They never really got that straightened out but we're still calling Matthew Indiana Jones. I asked him if I could call him "Indy" for short but he said "No, you can call me Indiana Jones or Dr. Jones." It's getting a bit better and now he'll respond to you if you forget and call him Matthew.

4th of July

We had a nice long relaxing 4th of July weekend.

T-Ball

Matthew really enjoys playing T-Ball. He's had a chance to make new friends and play with some of his buddies he hasn't seen since school got out. His coaches do a great job making it fun while teaching the rules of the game. He's come a long way since the beginning of the season and is now more of a team player. In the beginning of the season it was a dog pile of kids trying to get the ball and 9 times out of 10 he came up with it. He does much better staying in position and really likes playing first base .
