New Candy
Our cavity fighting lollipops arrived this week. Just in time to replace all that Easter candy I threw out or ate myself to protect my babies' teeth. The things I do for my kids! Anyway, after seeing these on the news I figured we'd give them a try. They are Dr. John's Cavity Fighting Lollipops. They are kind of pricey but cheaper than the price of one filling. I was a little nervous ordering so many but figured we could give them out to Trick or Treaters next Halloween if they were gross! Luckily they taste great and everyone loves them.
Easter Fun
We had a really nice Easter up in Holton with family. Paul, Matthew and I met Troy and Katie there after we went to 8:00 Mass. We had a scrumptious lunch, played cards, hid Easter eggs and had a good time. The Easter Bunny brought books, monster trucks, chocolate bunnies, jammies and the movie Enchanted which is Katie's new absolute favorite movie. Matthew received the book I Ain't Gonna Paint No More which is a really cute story of a little boy who paints his entire body. It was excellent timing because he drew all over himself the night before.
Since Easter was so early this year it was a bit chilly but here's some interesting facts about when Easter occurs.
The earliest calendar date on which Easter can fall is March 22, and the latest date is April 25. The last time Easter fell on so early a date was 1913, and the next time it will do so will be in the year 2160.
Seeing Easter fall on the earliest possible date, March 22, is an experience that has not been, and (barring some remarkable breakthroughs in longevity) will not be, witnessed by anyone alive today: It last occurred in the year 1818, and it will not happen again until 2285.
The odds are considerably better for witnessing a late Easter. Many people are still around from the last time Easter fell on April 25, an event which took place in 1943, and a good many people here today will likely still be around when Easter next falls on April 25, which will occur in 2038.
Pinewood Derby 2008
This year's Pinewood Derby was exciting and full of really cool looking FAST cars. Paul came in second place and was thrilled to win an awesome trophy that's bigger than last year's first place trophy.
Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!
We are big Dr. Seuss fans and like to celebrate his birthday. He was born on March 2nd in 1904. We celebrated with green eggs and ham and even green pancakes. It was lots of fun and the kids cleaned their plates.
Pinewood Derby Prep
Paul and Troy have been working hard on this year's Pinewood Derby car. The competition is tough but they are confident!
